Advocacy
By maintaining a strong voice in the public domain, ICA&CA advocates the preservation of classicism and historic architecture as vital cultural resources.  The organization also plays an important role through its continued support and preservation of programs of study dedicated to training future architects and designers in classicism.

Members of the Southeast Chapter assisted with the preservation of the Crum and Forster Building and the restoration of the John N. Goddard Memorial Chapel at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Education

The Southeast Chapter plays a critical role in keeping the classical tradition alive through its educational programs.   ICA&CA seeks to advance lessons from past design as a guide to creating meaningful architecture and art for the twenty-first century.  Since no educational institution in the region teaches the principles of classical design in architecture, the organization helps fill this void.  Members have the opportunity to continue their education through lectures, CEU programs, salons, and travel programs and conferences in the United States and Europe.

Awards
Soon after its founding, the Southeast Chapter created The Shutze Awards, the first regional awards program to recognize the finest artistans, architects, interior designers, landscape architects and construction practitioners of classical design in the Southeast.

The award is named for Atlanta architect
Philip Trammell Shutze, revered internationally as one of the twentieth century's most devoted classicists and the first recipient of the Arthur Ross Award, awarded annually by the national organization since 1982.
